Introduction: Ginkgo biloba, usually slow growing, with initial growth being somewhat sparse, are dioecious (separate male female trees). Nurseries typically sell only male trees female trees produce seeds when they are more than 20 years old. It features distinctive two-lobed, somewhat leathery, fan-shaped, rich green leaves with diverging (almost parallel) veins from March to April, bloom from April to May, maturate between September to October. Leaves turn bright yellow falling to the ground from October.
